Why this exists

The hardest admin job in the world is handed to people on their worst day.

Executors and grieving families face dozens of institutions — banks, super funds, MyGov, utilities, subscriptions — usually with no list of what exists, let alone how to access it.

A will says who gets what. It doesn't say where the title deed is, what the phone passcode is, which direct debits to stop, or what you wanted read at the funeral. That's the gap The Tin Box fills.

Questions

Fair questions, straight answers.

Is this a will?

No — and it doesn't replace one. A will is a legal document about who inherits. The Tin Box is the practical companion: where things are, how to access them, and what you wanted. It's designed to sit alongside your will and make your executor's job possible.

Is it safe to write down passwords?

The planner walks you through safer options first — password managers with emergency access, and how to hand off a master password without writing every login down. What you record, and where you store it, stays entirely in your hands. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

I'm young and healthy. Do I need this?

The people who most need a Tin Box are the ones nobody expected to. It's also one of the most practical things you can help an ageing parent complete — that's what the Caretaker track is for.

Digital or printed?

Edition 1 is a fillable PDF you can complete on screen or print at home. A printed edition — with a photo pocket — is in the works. Join the list below if you'd like to know when it's ready.

How long does it take to fill in?

The critical first pages take about twenty minutes. A full, careful pass is an afternoon. The planner is tiered so the most important information gets captured first.

The printed edition is coming.

A bound version with a photo pocket, designed to live in a drawer for decades. Leave your email and we'll let you know when it's ready — nothing else, ever.
